Creating with Flatware – Jewelry

Silverware, also known as Flatware, is wonderful to bend and shape and stamp.    What was once an ordinary item on your table can be transformed into gorgeous pieces of jewelry.    Actually, many items can be made from flatware including wall art, lights, garden markers and more.   This article will focus on jewelry, with more articles to come on other items.

Why would someone want to do this?    Aside from creating lovely pieces of art, we can take something that was once treasured by older family members, and create something that will treasured by younger family members, and future generations to come.

Flatware Necklaces

Forks can be bent to create unusual shapes.

Spoons can be stamped with messages.

Knife handles can be pendants.

Messages can be stamped on handles or tines.

Knife handles can be sliced to form links.

Flatware Rings

  2. I know so many people who have rings made of family heirloom flatware pieces, but I’ve not seen the bracelets, necklaces and earrings. How delightful! I love it! The Southerner in me rejoices! Nothing like a great way to display your silver pattern!

  3. What fun you must have creating these designs. I have seen flatware jewelry before but not in such unusual and creative shapes. I especially love the cuff bracelet. Added it to my pinterest board.

  6. Not sure I am digging the earrings or necklaces, but that’s just me. I do think that the rings and the bracelets for sure are amazing… not to mention all of the other cool things you have done in the past.
