Jewelry Tip: How to Mix and Match Your Bracelets

armcandy

Styling your accessories has become just as fun and challenging as putting together an entire ensemble.  It’s practically an art.  Mix and matching bracelets is great; especially when you know how to stack them in a way that ia more appealing.  There is a strategy behind the wearing of different kinds of bracelets, and that depends on “the look” you desire.

The Casual Look

It may be that you are meeting with friends in a less sophisticated venue.   I would choose  chunky bracelets in assorted styles.    If all are chunky, a limit of four will yield the best results.

Mixing styles is great, but best to stay in the same color theme.   With the casual look, it is time to experiment (a little) have some fun!

The Business or Classic Look

To get the business or classic look, try mixing geometric shapes with clear lines.   Mixing gold and silver jewelry works well.   The goal is to keep the lines and elements simple.  In so doing, it looks great to stack several bracelets.

Pairing a watch with a bracelet is a very classic look; just be sure to keep the bracelet simpler than the watch.

The Edgy Look

Mixing and matching different elements (wood, metal, plastic), is a great way to get the edgy look!   Studs, beads, heavy chains; all can be worn together.

This is a great way to get the Boho Look that we crave.  With this look, limit the number of chunky bracelets so more can be stacked.

The Elegant Look

Bling is a great way to get the elegant look.   Rhinestone bracelets can be side by side, or mixed in with a semi-chunky statement piece to give you an elegant, regal look.

Rhinestones are a great way to dress up denim.

Final Thoughts

Stacking bracelets is a great way to give your outfit that final punch.   You just have to decide what kind of punch and stack away.   If wearing a long stack of bracelets, it is best to minimize your other jewelry.

  2. I love bracelets on other people — I just can’t handle them on me! I’m with Sonya — how do we keep the bracelets from driving us nuts while we type?

  3. Still like the idea of an i-watch. And, perhaps use the ideas for a more fun time – we just have to get away from our keyboards (she said as she typed):)

  5. I LOVE wearing multiple bracelets at once! Your recommendations are much appreciated. I don’t have a favorite since I believe in changing my style or look with my mood, so I love them all. 😉 Jewelry is so fun and a wonderful accessory to make my outfits look complete.
